Women Celebrate Menstruation and Menopause in Local Moonlodge

The Wise Woman Center in Woodstock, NY, is home to many wonderful woman-empowering activities throughout the year. Among these are the Moonlodge gatherings that the Wise Woman Center and Susun Weed, renowned herbalist and author of women’s health books, have been offering the public for over 20 years.
These gatherings are free and open to women of all ages. Participants are welcome to sing, dance, pass the talking stick, and honor women’s wisdom. Indoors or out, depending on the weather, each visit is sure to be a unique experience shaped by the moment and the women present.
Women’s Sacred Moonlodges are held throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall. In 2010, Moonlodges will be held Fridays on April 16, May 21, June 25, July 6, August 6, August 20, September 17 and October 1.
Arrive for the Moonlodge between 6:45 pm and 7:15 pm; no need to register. Please arrange to stay for the entire Moonlodge. Founded twenty years ago by internationally acclaimed author and herbalist Susun Weed, the Wise Woman Center exists with the purpose of offering a safe space for women to rediscover the Wise Woman Way. Nestled in deep magical woods and located between Woodstock and Saugerties, 5 miles from the NYS Thruway, the Wise Woman Center is easily accessible while still private. Studies include plant identification, herbal medicine, cancer prevention, women and chanting, goddess belly dancing, and feeding the creative spirit.
