Press Release

Winter Medicines
with Susun Weed

October 3, 2010
Woodstock, NY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Strengthen Your Health in Preparation for Winter

Susun Weed ends another wonderful season with a class to send us off, then bring us back stronger than ever in spring. She reminds us that there's still time to make remedies to help prevent and treat winter's gifts of colds and flu, sore throats, coughs and fevers, sinus problems, allergies and asthma.

Autumn is the time of harvest, the time to prepare for winter. During this time we gather all that is needed to nourish our home and health with warmth and strength. Add to this list an abundance of fall-gathered wild herbs, prepared in our kitchen, and we are sure to thrive through the dark lean months indoors with our loved ones.

Learn the difference between cold colds and hot colds. Explore antibacterial, antiviral, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory herbs. Discuss relief for sinus infections, throat problems, congestion, and breathing difficulties. Learn how to stay healthy and deal with winter miseries.

The day-long workshop “Winter Medicines,” will be taught by Susun Weed at the Wise Woman Center on October 3, 2010, from 10am-5pm. Open to men and women. Come learn with the woman known for her empowering teaching styles.

Weather permitting the class leaves promptly at 10:15 a.m. for a talking stick ceremony and a weed walk in the woods with the goats.  You will have lots of time to learn to identify and talk about plants and ask questions.  When the goats take a break, you will prepare and enjoy a wild food lunch.  Class size is small to allow personal attention.  Class held indoors in case of rain.

Each one-day workshop with Susun Weed at the Wise Woman Center costs $75 and includes talking stick ceremony, a weed walk, wild-food lunch, and instruction.
